Oh, so you have no allergies when you were younger. Na develop lang after years of smoking? |
I THINK SO BRO, AND OF COURSE POLLUTION IN MANILA. YOU KNOW, DI AKO NAGKAKASAKIT SA BARCO LIKE COMMON COLDS, FEVER ETC., BUT ONCE I GO HOME AND CAME OUT NA SA NAIA, IN A SHORT SPAN OF ABOUT AN HOUR I CAN FEEL MY NOSE STARTING TO CLOGGED UP IMMIDIATELY. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? TOO SAD TO SAY, WE ARE LIVING IN ONE OF THE MOST DIRTIEST PLACE IN THE WORLD. |
Yes, I miss my younger days when we lived in the province.
When I studied here during high school, I had persistent cough that lasted months. Ngayon parang nasanay na baga ko sa dumi siguro.
Sarap niyang sa barko if you liked seabreeze, you can get all the fresh air you need. Kelan kaya ulit ako makasakay ng barko papuntang boracay hehe... Actually I prefered riding in ships going to boracay rather than planes. Sa barko palang, umpisa na ng baksayon! I can stay all afternoon at the side of the ship just chilling out.
Bro Onerock, ano ba work mo sa barko and saan? |

| Quote: | There was a study made by a foreigner( I cannot recall the source)many years ago which revealed that smog in the morning is worse. In the afternoon there is already sea breeze that wards off the smog.
In the morning, I also observe the trees to be still and quiet, no wind. Therefore, outdoor exercises specially in Metro Manila, in the morning MAY BE bad rather than beneficial. |
I also observed that during the colder months: December to January, mas amoy usok sa Metro Manila. To put it to the test, I turned off the lights in my room making sure it's pitch black. Then I will light up a flashlight. I can see from the steady stream of light, the particles floating or illuminated by that stream!
Nowadays when it's already summer. That stream of light has less particulate matter (although it is still there).
My theory is that "cold air goes down". Since it is much colder during those months, the smog floating with the air has the tendency to go down rather than fly up into the upper atmosphere. Is this theory correct?
I think this one of the reasons why there are more respiratory illnesses during the cold months (aside form viruses multiplying more in lower temperatures and pollen from plants). |

hi tpmates,
i am a frequent lurker of this thread, share ko lang what happened to my badminton friend last week.
two weeks ago, he was telling us, masakit daw ang siko nya and namamanhid daw ang arm nya.
then last thrusday, he suffered a minor attack and went through angioplasty last thursday night.
yun palang sakit ng braso nya two weeks ago is already sign that he is already having a heart attack.
he plays badminton twice a week, eats healthy na daw, however, the blockage from his artery is actually caused by his sins from the past.
he is just 30+ years old.
if you have these sins from the past, how long should you try to eat healthy to correct? and aside from oatmeal, and vegetables, ano ba ba ang nakakababa ng cholesterol na food? |

Speaking about smoking... Noynoy say's---
| Quote: | In a TV interview, Aquino admitted that he would have to kick his nicotine habit if he wins the presidential election on May 10.
"Sa vices, I assume ‘yung smoking ko will eventually go. Hopefully ma-weather natin ‘yung pressures with the job that we can give it up sooner other than later," he said.
|
Babaw naman dahilan... he just shows, he can't control himself, lack of self discipline. Dapat mag paturo si Noynoy kay Onerockystar. |

I have a story to tell. My professor has this favorite line:
During those times of our forefathers, they use to be fishermen or farmers or hunters. For you to eat, plant, fish or hunt. You have to work.
They eat simple unprocessed fresh foods. They only eat when hungry.
Life was simple then. Wala silang diabetes. Wala silang hypretension.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Atherosclerosis( cause of stroke) once it is there, it's there forever. Lifestyle change plus modern medicines may reduce the size of the plaques( cholesterol plaques in our arteries causing obstruction) but never reverse back to normal. Kaya yung nagawang kasalanan nakatatak na.
We should not let a disease or condition progress up to the point that no amount of curative measures will help or alleviate it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oatmeal do help lower our cholesterol level.
May I suggest that we look into foods that have cholesterol content so that we now which food group to eat less.
For my patients to comply a lot easier, I tell them: Eto ang mga pagkain na BAWAS ang serving size. I never say" BAWAL".
To name a few of the high cholesterol foods:
3 m's ( choose the lean meat part but they still contain cholesterol)
steak, hamburger, spaghetti sauce( with ground beef or pork)
french fries( some fastfood resto still use a lot of lard)
pansit bihon..malabon..etc na ginamitan ng mantika ng baboy.
litson baka baboy manok
full cream milk
trans fat ( look into the label of your favorite biscuits)
butter
cheese
gulay na ginisa sa baboy
ulo ng hipon
aligi ng alimasag, alimango
etc.... |

I think what should be feared here is not uric acid but colon cancer?!
I have read that eating innards are one of the primary causes of colon cancer.
One more thing. A friend of my father back in the 80's who love eating innards died of colon cancer.
We also heard that another person died of colon cancer. The person used to drink more than 1 liter of Coke a day. He just love Coke so much.
Any insights from doctors here? Thanks |
Sagutin ko lang tong concern ni bro bago magbakasyon pre, muntik nang makalusot 'to.
Una sa lahat, colonic cancer has one of the best prognosis. In fact, my brother-in law has three (3) colon resection just to remove 3 separately new colon CA at different sites. By the way, they have a very strong family history of cancer in the family. Sa Awa ng Diyos, mukhang cured na sya, more than 15 years ago na.
Some of the signs and symptoms:
Change in bowel habit. Dating once a day ang bowel movement, naging every 2 days o di kaya 2x a day naman kaya.
Fresh blood in the stool.
Ans stool naging goat-stool like droppings.
Loss of appetite.
Weight loss.
I requests:
CEA- blood test to detect the presence of colon CA.
Colonoscopy
Consult your doctor. |

Hi guys & gals, tagal ako di naka post dito. A cousin sent me these health tips from his favorite doctor. Enjoy!
Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Heart only good for so many beats, and then that's it... Don't waste time on exercise. Everything wear out eventually. Speeding up heart not make live longer; that like say you can extend life of car by driving faster. Want live longer? Take nap.
Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does cow eat? Hay and corn. What are these? Vegetables. So, steak nothing more than efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef also good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And pork chop give 100% recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.
Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine. That means they take water out of fruity bit; get even more goodness that way. Beer also made out of grain. Bottoms up!
Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU NOT LISTEN!!! .... Foods fried in vegetable oil.. How getting more vegetables bad for you?
Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: If you have body and you have fat, ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, ratio is two to one, etc.
Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Cannot think of single one, sorry. My philosophy: No Pain...GOOD!
Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise muscle, it get bigger. You should only do sit-ups if want bigger stomach.
Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: You crazy? HELLO ... Cocoa bean! Vegetable!!! Cocoa bean best feel-good food around!
Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming good for figure, explain whale.
Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is shape!
Well, I hope this has cleared up all misconceptions you may have had about food, exercise and diets. |

TAMA! Acupuncturist doctor yata ito.
According to the famous saying "If something is hard to do, its not worth doing - Homer Simpson"
Well as for me lang ang masasabi ko lang, you don't smoke, you don't drink, you don't womanize, they why do you still want to live longer?

maraming salamat po sa mga doctor natin dito tulad nila docjoey, soontobe at neuro pati na sa ibang posters na kahit hindi doktor e nanggagamot.
i just have one question, What is the cause of snoring and how can it be cured?
There are times when I can hear my snore even before i fall asleep, and there are also times when i wake up hearing myself snore.
Also almost all people i have shared a room with would attest that I snore loud.
What is the bad effect of snoring? Does it mean i get less quality sleep because of this?
thanks _________________ Good boy na po ako. My sincerest apologies to those whom I offended. |
